Default '28 or '32 body?

So my lady and I purchased a '28 roadster on a '32 frame. But according to alot of people on the HAMB the body is a '32.

The front cowl is quite different on the top and sides of a '28 Ford cowl.

Certainly not '28, but not genuine '32 Ford either. Brookville perhaps, if made of steel. If not, it could be from a number of makers. I think that you will like the HAMB website more than this one given your car.

Overall, you're right, but I'll bet they sent him over here because of the superior specific Ford knowkedge here.

I've seen the recomendation over there many times. I thik it's a compliment to this forum.

Here is a picture of a 1928-'29 Ford cowl. Note the gas cap on top of cowl,
and the extruded metal running down the side of the cowl, close the door jam.

Here is the picture, click on it to enlarge it.

Modified "1932" Roadster. Could be steel but unlikely. Doors are extended, cockpit moved back, reveals along the side of the deck lid removed, channeled. What little of the frame that can be seen looks "1932" though with suicide front suspension, etc.

A car of this type is CUSTOM! The flip side of uniqueness of style is a very limited availability of parts.

Everyone can have their own opinion on fit and finish, and on the old hot rod styling, but the important matter is the owners enjoyment of the car, and the community.

Your answer has been thoroughly discussed and answered on the H.A.M.B. Your car is not a 1928 Ford, that's fact. I answered on the H.A.M.B. that the space from the back edge of your front door to the bottom of the wheel well should be about 17 inches and your's is about 6". You can call your car what you want, but what you appear to have is a modified 1932 body.

Just wanted to ask here woodiewagon. My partner at work had a '31 a while back and pointed out what ya'll was talking about. The body is steel. After dinner I will go to the garage and take some measurements.

Model A and '32 are totally different. You need to compare your car to another 1932.

Take your car to a car show and compare your car to another '32 roadster. Your doors aren't stretched, but your car is shortened in the quarter panels. I don't understand all the controversy, the bottom line is that your car is some compilation of a 1932 Ford roadster, or built from different body parts. It could be a modified stock body or a modified reproduction body, but it is not a 1928 Model A. Just listen to what people are telling you!!!!!!

pantodd,,, woodiewagon has given you about as good of a description of
your '32 body as one could give.
pantodd,,,Read over his description a couple times so you
grasp what your '32 body has gone through.

Can you take a few closeup's of the fender lip around the tires. Roadster and coupe quarter panel's are different. It may tell you if the car body was assembled from parts.
