0 posts is a give away. Once a "new member" tries a scam, he is reported and Ryan promptly deletes them from the forum. Did you report those 3?

A scammer need not be a member of the forum. Anyone who can access the Swap Meet can be a scammer. I too have had a scammer respond to one of my for sale posts. The best thing to do is check to see if the responder has any posts on the forum. If not, beware!

I was looking for a 35 windshield regulator and had a scammer who joined the same day send me some pictures he found on the internet to make it appear he was legit. Buyer beware.

Craigslist is likely the worst place! I get scammed every time I advertise.

Best thing to do is: DO NOT POST YOUR EMAIL OR PHONE NUMBER IN THE AD.

Re: Scammer Attempt Today
Hey guys... quick update... I was able to take care of one of these guys in a uhh... less than honorable way....

As for the rest, we are no longer allowing new users to see the wanted section or send private messages. You gotta have ten posts and be registered for over 24 hours... This should drive off the rest of them... for a while anyway.

Posted an ad for door panels, was referred by new member (12-20-20) to contact a second non member who had panels for sale. Showed a photo of a panel and asked what was my budget, cheap I said, he replied $800.00 for the pair plus freight. Told him out of my budget, most I could pay would be $150, he replied ok, send me money for item and shipping cost. I replied, I want to see pics of both panels and both sides of each. He then said, sorry I cloud has jammed his camera and was unable to send pics. So........no more contact.
