Shock arm removal
Hi guys. Another quick question, on shock arm removal, is it typical to have to spread the arm a bit to get it off the shock shaft? My concern is weakening the arm, which was a bit loose to begin with. Or do you get behind the arm and pry it off?
Last thing I did on the A the other day was loosen the arm, expecting it to slide right off but it did not. Since I was already late, I decided to fool with it later. Just wondering if this is typical as only other time I installed new shocks it was on a car that had none. Thanks, Steve

Re: Shock arm removal
You need to remove the bolt to get the arm to slide off the shaft. There is a detent on the shaft for the bolt to pass. That way if the nut comes lose the arm will not fall off. If you have the bolt out and it is still stuck, drive a screw driver in the slot to spread slightly.
