Which way does this door seal go?
This is the bottom door seal on my '36 coupe. Does this side go against the door?
[IMG][/IMG] Or does this side with the little lip go against the door? I can see how this lip might engage the offset in the scuff plate OR....it might just fit up under the bottom edge of the door. Thanks!! [IMG][/IMG]

Re: Which way does this door seal go?
From the way I see it the second photo would be correct. You put your screws in and then lay the carpet over the screws.

Looks very similar to my 34 lower seals.

The side with the lip fits along the lower edge of the door.

Re: Which way does this door seal go?
David is correct as usual. You will find that the door doesn't want to close on the installed door seal. Never fear, it's a matter of knowing who's boss. Leave it closed for a week and it will follow that door like a cat follows the cow.

Try this............ Sorry, picture didnt post ... but the lip fits under the bottom edge of the door. So, the flat edge faces the interior of the vehicle. Make sense? Last edited by nelsb01; 04-10-2015 at 12:07 AM. Reason: Picture didnt post |

Re: Which way does this door seal go?
Old post, but I've been doing some searching and it answered HALF my question.
The second half of my question is: What does the fasteners that hold the lower door seal to the door look like and where can I get them? There was nothing on my coupe when I bought it, the lower seals didn't come with them and I don't see where they even offer them in the catalog. Thanks for any help you can provide. -Bob |

Re: Which way does this door seal go?
OK, I'm an idiot......I think. After re-thinking this, I believe the lower door seal goes between the door panel & the door and the door panel clips go through the panel & the seal and clip into the door - am I correct ?

Here's the way a 40 looks. I bet 36 is the same.
