Default Thanks FordBarners! - A Few Minor Victories Shared

I just came in from my shop 'crowing' to my wife about another battle won on my '41 (somewhat off-topic, mild custom) pickup project. Well, she's certainly supportive but can't really get her head around the meaning of each new success (or setback, sometimes) experienced on the project. So, I thought I'd share with the other enthusiasts here.

Tonight's battle was a continuation of the driver's side door fitting. I'm terrible at taking pictures of the 'before' condition, so you'll need to take my word for it. In this case, I started with a good 1/4" sag at the rear of the door where it meets the cab body line. After researching past FordBarn threads about door and hinge issues, and building up some courage, I began the adjustments with instruments including brute muscle (that's getting less effective each year), a floor jack, section of 2x4, Big Hammer, and 24" pipe wrench. Two evenings and one seriously smashed hand later, I won the big battle. I'm happy with the fit. I ran into a similar (but even more difficult) challenge with re-shaping some badly dented metal on the hood's front end.

I just wanted you all to know that I appreciate those who share your project experiences and knowledge, because it really helps those of us who are a little less talented or experienced win the battles with challenges that are new to us. Thanks for the help! -Ken
