Doug,

I was thinking about this as I was driving home today.

My assumption is your car is wired for 12v already and Neg ground as shown in the diagram. If the car is not, it may cause issues.

I made a little mount on the stater to take a push button and that works from the original starter foot switch.

He's using the jumper in place of the push button because he has a key switch operated solenoid in the main power feed to the starter. Nice simple set up.

Thanks to all for your help. Attached is the drawing showing how I intend to hook things up. Look for a mushroom cloud on the horizon.

You should be fine,thats how mine has been hooked up for several years.
The starter is much easier on the ring gear because it engages the ring gear before the motor starts spinning.

Got it all hooked up and it works beautifully. Very happy with the kinder/gentler engagement of the starter gear with the ring gear. Thanks to all.
