Default Removing body bolts

Ok, what is the best course of action for the two body bolts in the front floor pans. They are welded to the sheet metal, rather what is left of the bolt is. I can’t even get a socket on the head or is so far gone.

Not sure on this vehicle but does it extend through the floor where the threads are visible underneath? I've had luck on this double nutting it and then running it back through the top. At least to get enough to get a vice grips on it or weld a nut to the top of the stud. Although, from the pic not really sure its there......

I assume you're probably going to replace the floor and the underlying brace. As bad as your floor looks perhaps you could pull the head of the bold and the hex washer under it through the floor and support under it. When I replaced the same on my sedan, also a 57, I ground the off the head of the bolt but then they lower portion of the bolt was still held in place by an internal nut into a washer above the rubber body supports. It was a real PITA. I put a punch on the bolt and drove the remaining bolt through the washers above frame support.

I think I am going get the angle grinder out and or dremel for the bolt head. If I can weld a nut on great-if not I will grind it off totally and try to back it out from below. I have been soaking it in PB Blaster for a few weeks now. All of the other bolts are loose or out.

Front bumper is off, just need to get the rear one off and any other odds and ends so I can lift the body.

is there an update on this? When I removed my body mounts, I ground off the heads of the bolts then drove the remainder of the bolt down and out. I can't remember what exactly was damaged but I believe some of the washers under the floor support were.

Update: was able to get one out by using my propane torch on it. Broke the head off San punched the rest down through the hole. The drivers side will have to be cut/ground out. After that it is the small stuff to disconnect and build a plan to raise the body up a bit. Cut and weld some floor pans and reinstall the bolts. Fun huh?

Funny, it was the drivers side bolt on mine that also gave me a problem. Tho it was no where near as bad as yours. Must be a jinks on that bolt.
