Holley 94 flooding
I rebuilt my dual Holley 94's today using modern fuel compatible needle and seat and accelerator pump etc. I had a leak starting in the front one I could not diagnose. So I thought a rebuild was in store and purchased two deluxe rebuild kits from a reputable USA based company.
Figured I'd go to 4.5 power valves and .047 jets to lean the engine a bit as it was running rich any way. Running 2-1/2 lbs pressure from pump. Swapped the front carb for the rear during the rebuild and put it back together. Started the engine and it idled smooth as silk. Shut it down and noticed the front carb started leaking! Gas was dripping into the venturi of the front carb. Whacked the carb housing thinking the "needle and seat" was some how stuck. No apparent affect. Gas kept coming! By the way the needle and seat assembly is a new design supposedly superior to the old needle and seat design. Defective parts or did I over look something? Pulling it back apart again tomorrow and looking for suggestions. |

Re: Holley 94 flooding
Check the seal of the power valve. New power (economizer) valves mating surface must be modified to match the old carbs. I've also heard that doubling up on the gaskets may also accomplish the seal. Of course, this is assuming that the diaphragm is intact also.

Re: Holley 94 flooding
Rebuild kit included correct power valve and second carb. had no problems. Pulling the darn thing again tomorrow so I'll double check the valve seating.
