Default Progress on my AV8 build

Here are some progress pictures of my AV8 build. The red tin on the firewall is the bottom of a cheap wheel barrow. It will need a little more work when I take the body off. The trunk floor worked out good.
Having Ford Flathead fun.

Nice job so far, still a little too tall though. I'll bring my Sawsall down if you need it.

Some more pictures of my build. The chassis is done and the body will go back on this weekend. The pictures show some neat clips for lines and cables and exhaust pipe connectors that I think are better than clamps. Both from Speedway. I ran the engine to set the manifold paint. Right now I am thinking a 2 1/2 to 3 inch chop. I will do this when I am up North for the summer.

Very nice... (I kind of like it without the chop also)

Not to take anything away, but it looks like you have yet to put a flex line between the master cylinder and the rear end... You will want to do that.

Karl, The line between master and tourque tube in the first picture is a stainless flex line. I think it is ok but thanks for the advice.

My AV8 is chopped 4" but I agree with others, I dig it unchopped. You're doing a great job there. This is what a 4" chop looks like......

Don't chop it, why would you want a car that looks like everyone else's. You're doing a great job on it. I'm also tired of seeing Model A's with '32 grills. But that's just me.

Looking good Pete. Chop's aren't for everyone. I like 'em just as much when they are tall.

Be careful. Ryan just closed a thread, where a fellow had a YouTube video of his "A" V8, first start up. It is super nice. You can still see the video, in the "A" section.

I understand why the post was deleted. It is my post and Ryan was very plesant about it. The reson I posted it on the Forn Barn is this project would have never made it this far without the good folks on the Barn. Although my heart is in traditional HOT RODS ( H.A.M.B.) when I needed hard to find parts and no B.S. information and how does this work problems the answers came from the Ford Barn! Thanks for all your help!

First test drive today just around my neighbor hood. So far so good just a little exhaust clearance issue.
The "no chop" feedback got me thinking. Right now I like the way it looks.
I am going to hold off doing anything until I get it up North for the summer. It was a blast to drive.

Yes ... Chop/no Chop is always an interseting fork in the road and is purely a personal taste of the owner sort-a-thing. In my case I was so in love with the lines of the 3 Window and the growing rarity of unchopped ... I stayed loyal to the Henry point of view ... again all in the eyes of the beholder

Is that a geared starter on the V8? I have one on my A and it works so well I think I could drive to the next town even if it didn't start!

Yes that is a gear reduction starter. The small size helped with header clearance.
