1930 Model 225A Special Delivery

A good friend who is not computer savvy is replicating a 225A Spec. Del. He wants to know how the seating was arranged in the front. What style seats were used. Any Barner have one of these rare models? My friend has a stable full of Model A's. He is 72 and says this will be his last project. Believe him? Me neither!! Any info is appreciated We are in Nova Scotia.

I am fortunate enough to have owned a 225-A for about 30 years. Still have it, but it doesn't come out of the garage very often. I really should get it out and drive it more! There are some pictures of a 225-A if you Google 1931 Ford Model A Special Delivery. That will take you to "1931 Ford Model A Images, Information and History..." One of the pictures shows an open passenger door shot of the interior. The seats (two of them; side by side) are similar to Station Wagon center seats, but are larger. They fill the compartment side-to-side. The driver seat is mounted on top of a storage compartment and is hinged in the front so that you can "tilt" it forward. The passenger seat has four cast "legs" and can be removed - here again, like the center seats in a wagon. If your friend needs measurements, etc, or more information, post me and I'll see what I can do. I'm not computer literate enough to do pictures. There is another 225-A in a town about 10 miles away.

There is a fellow here on Fordbarn that has a very super restore 225-A and a pretty complete unrestored one. Posted the picture of the restored one on the old fordbarn forum.Bill Droege restored one and sold it .Might have restoration pictures of his work??1-518-821-3600 cell [thats the last Telephone number that i have ]he's in N.Y. GOOD LUCK ,nice truck....

I draged home the remaines of one from the Town Dump in the 1960's. I thought the roll up windoes in the doors was a unique feature.

These pictures are taken from the gwcmodela.com body style guide. The pictures themselves (I believe) are taken from the RM auction website, this particular car sold at Hershey in 2007.

I wondered about the 225/255-A designation, too, but thought maybe I had them mixed up all along. The pictures of the seats are the correct ones!

I tend to agree with Vince on the designation. I am restoring a 225A, and it is a double back door steel bodied drop floor panel delivery.

The second picture looks like a drop floor deluxe delivery. I think the panel delivery had two doors.

The upper photo is a factory photo of a 225A. Note the roof mounted tail light - provided for the first 90 days of this vehicle.

Pardon me folks--it is a model 255a that I was loking for seat arrangement on. The pics provided by WTSHNN give agood view of the seating on this model. Ironically my friend has a gorgeous example of a 225a panel. He lives 75 miles away from me and I will get some pics next time I visit and attempt to post--for the first time! I am looking for any hardware for a Special Delivery 255A. Do you still have any of these parts? If you do, I would be interested in buying them. Even old wood for paterns.

I would like to find as much of the original hardware that I can. I do know of Pleasantville in NY but, thanks for the heads up. Any info will help.

This is a Danish guy who made a station wagon replica. He tells that he is now working on replicating a 31' Travellers Car, which is as close as you come to the special delivery.
