I know doubtful but if you don't ask.

Anyone have either these two or these 2 connected to the cross brace? Hood hinge mounts 1939 Ford Deluxe. I found a whole hood but shipping is proving to be difficult.

Remove the entire brace from the hood straighten it install new tee nuts for the hinge bolts if needed and weld it back in. That is repairable, if you need pictures of what that should look like let me know.

I think Pete has the right idea. This can be repaired. You really have nothing to lose by trying. Good luck

That is the plan going forward thanks. The T nuts I found are smaller OD than the mounting hole in the hinge. I found some 1/2 OD tubing I guess just make a boshing. There will be a little slop because the ID of the TUBING us larger than the OD of the t nut. In the scheme of thins I guess not much.

you could use a 5/16 - 18 tee nut, that will have the correct barrel size for the hinge. The only issue then (if it matters) is the bolt is oversize from true original.

Very much so. I was going to ask if the mounts should be flat against the hood. Mine and the ones in a hood I was looking at are not flat against the hood. Buying that other hood would not have helped.

Are they shoulder screws on both ends of the hood support.

Thanks!!

Bill
