Default Carb filter

On a. B carb, does a screen go in the inlet? On mine, since my car had a side bowl late carb, I used the filter from the A carb to filter and make the 90°angle to match the A inlet position. Is there another way to get a filter in the B carb that others are using? Just curious as I just cleaned and tested a B carb for a friend.

Called Renners today, and evidently the B carb had no screen in the carb, because the carb was fueled by a pump, with an inline filter. So , if you want a screen in your B carb, buy the late 31 sediment bowl and related parts. This also orientates the fuel inlet the same as an A carb, so you can use the same fuel line.
