Assembley manual

Good morning,

I am a novice working on my first project. I could use a manual that shows the assembley of 1932 chassis . I will be useing a 39 trans and flathead V8. Looking for gaskets and bolts sizes. Any suggestions ?

VanPelt has a good manual on transmissions, and the green book is good for diagrams and parts list. If you get the CD version there are several other parts manuals included. Copies of the early Ford service bulletins are also helpful.

You should also get a copy of "The 1932 Ford Book" from the Early Ford V8 Club, https://www.earlyfordv8.org/Shop.cfm?id=15&pid=2 You will probably use the 1932 rear transmission mount and the transmission will bolt right in. You need the 1932 clutch throw out arm. You need to make or buy a bracket to mount the emergency brake. I have the same thing in my '32 roadster and I cut off and bent the transmission shift lever to look like a '32. Note there were two slightly different curves available for this lever I bent the lever based on the illustration in the "instruction book" for the car. The '39 lever will be a slightly larger diameter. I cut off the '39 lever to the length of a '32 lever and threaded it for the knob.

You didn't ask but I thought you might be interested in the "bolt in" mount I made for my master cylinder. The mount uses the original pedal assembly. I relocated the battery to the right side with a "mirror image" bracket. If I was doing it today I would probably use an Optima battery and leave it on the left side. The master cylinder fills from the hole in the floorboard that originally was used to fill the battery.

Thank you for the pictures. I took the easy way out and purchased master cylinder kit ,brake lines, E brake kit and battery box from Richard at The early V8 Garage.
