Aluminum radiator
Has anyone installed one of the cheap aluminum radiators advertised on eBay. The overflow tube on mine is cracked inside the filler neck and I have tried various fixes,j b weld, plastic straw liner. Nothing is working. Local radiator repair shop not intrested.

Re: Aluminum radiator
So I'll bump this back up, has anyone had a good experience with these cheap radiators? Mine is shot, radiator repair specialist told me he would boil out and rod it but given it's been repaired before said I wouldn't be happy and be wasting @$200+ bucks I could put towards a new one. Planning on picking one up next trip to Algonquin, Ill, but these sure look interesting for under $200

Re: Aluminum radiator
They can't be repaired, and make sure you run 90% antifreeze or it sets up electrelisis and plugs the tubes. Just saying......

Re: Aluminum radiator
Look into Berg's Radiator in Bluford, Illinois. I have had good experience with them over the years. Also good experience with the shop in Algonquin, Illinois.

Re: Aluminum radiator
Think I read somewhere that if you go with an aluminum radiator using a sacrificial anode that hangs in the radiator is recommended.

Re: Aluminum radiator
There are past threads on these radiators. Some are very happy, others not so much. Fitment is sometimes a problem. I don't remember any complaints about performance.

Re: Aluminum radiator
When you go to Algonquin, take your old rad with you to match up with the new alum one, especially bracket mount positions, otherwise the shell won't fit right, in fact, take the shell with you also.

Re: Aluminum radiator
Find another shop unless the fins are coming away from the tubes through age.

Re: Aluminum radiator
Try CHR racing. They sell a Model A radiator SHIPPED for $258. Call them and discuss it with them. Let us know how it goes. They build their own, not sure if all of them are their own though. https://chrracing.com/collections/au...minum-radiator
