Original Ignition Coil Replacement?
I have an old Standard ignition coil that works fine.
What I don't have is the Ford "can" and mounting bracket that is original. So, if I buy a used original style can with a coil( similar to the picture), and the coil itself does not work, will I be able to remove the old non-working coil from the "can" and replace it with my Standard brand coil, or some other if the Standard does not fit? Seems to me that I read somewhere that you could do this..... Thanks, Randy

Re: Original Ignition Coil Replacement?
Some times you can twist the coil in one direction and twist the can the opposite direction and the coil will come out of the can with your hands. These are just a modern coil pushed into a can. Don't try to pry off the top of the can. That is if coil is a reproduction.

And Dave I looked in the JS and my ccpu should have a non-script slant pole.... I'll just keep watching for one, there is no hurry at all.......
