Default Trunk light

Hi can anyone tell me where the on/off switch goes in the trunk for the light?? Know where the light is on the hinge but can't find a place for the switch?? I guess it would be like a door post switch?? Thanks Geoff

Default Trunk light

Not sure what year car you have? I have a 41 Ford and the switch is Mercury switch located internal in the light. It automatically goes on when you open the trunk and goes off when you close it. The Mercury was long gone in my switch and modified my switch with one of these off eBay and now it works like new.

Hope this answers your question.

If it is a 52'-53' Merc, the trunk light is controlled, by the headlight switch.
