Default Logo Lites USB Charge Port

Can anyone share their experience of installing the Logo Lites USB Charge Port from Bratton’s? I’m interested in where you installed it in the car, how you connected it to power, etc.

Apparently you can just wire in a cigarette lighter and use a regular charger. I made my own dedicated charger before I knew this because I didn't want to spend the money. The logo lites unit seems nice though, and easy to install.

You need to make sure the outlet to the plug will recognise 6v and deliver the 51/2v required. Isolate the plug.

The instructions say it works with 6V positive ground. http://www.logolites.com/wp-content/...tionManual.pdf

Can anyone share where they mounted this device? How did you make the power connects? Were there any problems with the installation?

This is what I made for mine, mounts on 2 of the terminal box screws. It only charges at 500mA but that was a deliberate move to keep the load on the generator to a minimum during night driving. Best part is it cost me $2 for the box, the rest I scavenged or had lying around.

Hello Shew, I purchased mine directly from logolite. I mounted mine directly to my steering column on the very bottom, easy to reach and kinda out of sight. I secured it with 2 or 3 zip ties with a rubber pad to hold it in place, there is also a strong magnet on the unit to hold it in place. As for power connection I went right off my junction box on the firewall, was an easy setup. The unit has been on for a few years and Ive had no issues at all. Good luck with yours and Happy Motoring, Dutie

Hello Shew, Sorry for misreading your post. My post was for the signal light installation and not the charge port....anyway good luck with your setup. Dutie
