Re: Amusing
"Maybe" I'll BUMP up my wheels/tires--LOL
When Chief couldn't sell an OLD car, he'd RAISE the PRICE & it'd be gone QUICK! I asked him about his method of madness---"Well, folks would say, that's a LOT of money, but for that price, It must be GOOD one"! Chiefs' Son

Re: Amusing
The fact that the Barn and CL are free makes it easy and inviting to just keep reposting over and over. Nothing to lose. I see that phenomenon on several collector sites. But the most amusing never-say-die ad I've seen was in Hemmings, which isn't free, for a Tatra. The year of the car was not even stated, the picture was hard to decipher (the rear of a seemingly incomplete car in a barn or garage -- no detail), and the lengthy description was rambling and largely incoherent and/or irrelevant, offering no real description at all. The price: one million dollars, "plus IRS tax". The seller justified the price by comparing it to an American Indian relic seen on Antiques Roadshow. That ad ran every month for at least 3-4 years. Talk about persistent. He only gave up a few months ago. (I'm assuming it didn't sell for $1M!)

Re: Amusing
Out-of-date is one away from the century mark!!!
It is easy just to glance over it which I do. I scan the ads but seldom is there anything that there are not many more out there; including a 29 dash rail. Everybody with extra parts has one of those. Literally dozens lay around at Hershey. But to each his own!! But occasionally there's a diamond in the rough.... I can recall maybe twice in 10-12 years. It is a free world ....go for it out-of-date! |

Re: Amusing
I'm waiting for the next entrepreneur to try to see some of that antique or vintage blinker fluid here. Maybe some OEM Ford air for my tires. I'm sure there is a market and the price probably will go skyward before long. :-)

(btw ridiculous, and I'll leave it alone forever!!). There are redundancies herein that are more ridiculous than that. Maybe my commentary is just as ridiculous....and pointless... |

Re: Amusing
I think the administrator should stop any ad listing at 40 or 50 ttt's. Enough is enough! This fellow is abusing the for sale board and clogging it up. Unless he finds a fool that will pay for his outlandishly priced dash panel, I am afraid he will keep ttting forever. I don't understand why he wont lower the price, like a reasonable seller would, after so many ttt's. Maybe he doesn't have anything else to do.

Re: Amusing
Why does anyone on this site care how many times that dash rail is relisted? The frequency of the listing makes one feel compelled to comment? I'm not sure what Im missing here folks. Or am I missing nothing, perhaps someone will buy it. Maybe it's the administrator who should counting.

Re: Amusing
An item that is advertised incessantly for an inflated price that does not sell, reminds me of the guy who leaves an old lounge out the front of his house with FREE on it,
It sits there for 3 weeks. He then puts a sign on it , FOR SALE $20. It gets stolen the first night. |

Re: Amusing
I have had real good luck putting things out by the curb. Sometimes they are gone before I have a chance to put the "FREE" sign on. Only thing I couldn't get rid of that way was a crappy computer desk. I wound up cutting it up for firewood.

Re: Amusing
If it sells you didn't ask enough, if it doesn't sell you are asking to much, what's a man to do?

Re: Amusing
Could be he is just messing with us, Never had a Model A and never had this part to sell but wishes he had one. May be that he is the one that is rating all the posts as a 5 star. May be that THIS IS HIS HOBBY.
