Universal water temp sensor
Just wondering since I already have this set of gauges if there is a fitting out there to install this temperature sensor in the 8ba head. I am getting closer to being ready to fire the motor up for the first time.

Re: Universal water temp sensor
I just bought one for my 59A.
Go on ebay and search for 3/8 NPT male 5/8 UNF Female or Something like that and they should come up. I got one here in the UK for the equivalent of $10 delivered. The thread into the head is 3/8 NPT and the fitting on the sensor is 5/8 UNF. Or at least mine was. Check what you have before ordering. Mart. |

You can put some teflon tape around it, it isn't a problem as it does not need electrical connectivity. Mart. |

Re: Universal water temp sensor
I got mine from Amazon with free shipping. Save yourself $10 bucks.
Also looks like you can get it a Pep Boys with free in store pickup. May not be an option at this moment considering... Last edited by Tim Ayers; 03-22-2020 at 06:29 PM. |

Re: Universal water temp sensor
you need a O1A-10889 heat bulb adapter ---its listed in the parts book for when a later engine is used to replace early engine with temp bulb in the waterpunmp to adapt to the pipe threads in later heads
And if there are issues with the temperature bulb seat in other brand heads /blocks the temperature bulb adapter for a 60s MG midget works, I just used one on a Packard head that the seat had rusted away but still had threads Last edited by Kurt in NJ; 03-23-2020 at 08:39 AM. |
