Default 59 AB fitting in a '35 Pickup

I have a tired 59A in an otherwise stock '35 Pickup. I am looking at buying a 59AB motor from a seller 400 miles away. I know the fan/generator arrangement is different with 2 belts and the fan mechanism being unique to 46-48 59AB design and not bolted to the generator like the stock '35. I recently rebuilt the 35 generator and would like to keep the cleaner look. I know 34 radiators tilt back a bit. Has anyone stuck the 59AB with the lower mounted fan and double crank pulley in a '35 without clearance issues? Id be happy to ditch the 59AB fan set up and just transfer my old generator/fan set up. I wounder if the extra pulley would be in the way. It would be easier if the motor was down the street where I could measure it and not 400 miles away. Thanks

You cut off the front pulley, and use your old generator. I'd use the aluminum intake too cause I like em. May need to make spacers under the motor mounts.

Very surprised no one else chimed in on this, but if you have a 59a in already, a 59ab is the same motor really. The AB on the heads mean they are interchangeable side to side, where as the earlier 59 heads have a different part # on each head for right and left.

So, you already have what you need for the new motor

Its the fan spacing I have questions about. If the 2 belt arrangement fits the same space area I could go with that. I was wondering if the longer bottom pulley would interfere

Members Heard, and v8 coopman did a long detailed thread on building the idler pulley you need I think, in Heards 35 pickup. Maybe you can pm one of them.

I have a 59 AB in my 36 pickup. I used all the stock stuff including the generator and fan with 2 belts. It fit perfectly with no changes. Looks fine and does not overheat. The only change I made, was I used my aluminum intake. Ron
