Starter Problem?
When I start my A and the engine starts and the bendix disengages but the starter continues to spin. I can tap the starter with a rubber mallet and it will stop. Starter rod seems to return to normal position. Where do I start to look for the problem?

Re: Starter Problem?
The starter switch may be physically binding, or the electrical contact could be burnt and sticking. See the link below for the switch I'm referring to.
You can easily remove this switch and look for the problem. Just make sure to disconnect your battery first. http://parts.modelastore.com/show_Product.asp?ID=4117

Re: Starter Problem?
Thanks. Took it apart and filed both sides and everything seems to be good.
