Default Pressure plate replacement

My recently-acquired 1929 Sport Coupe had been partial disassembled many years ago and is missing the pressure plate. I notice new ones for sale at vendors - has anyone tried one of these ?

Thanks - Jim

I've used repro pressure plates and had absolutely no trouble. FYI, with a bit of machining of the flywheel, a V8 pressure plate can be used. They will greatly reduce the pressure required to disengage the clutch - ideal if you're driving around town or a lady wants to drive. My wife loves the V8 PP.

I installed the clutch plate and v-8 pressure plate in my car last winter I have the one lathe that i swung the flywheel in and cut the step off. The next one I do will be for my b engine and I will remove all the weight off as per the instructions I have seen. I did have the flywheel balanced after I was done and the guy said I really wasted my money as it wasn't out only a very very small amount.

Thanks for the responses. I do have the V8 pp on my ‘31 roadster and really like it, but think I’ll leave the flywheel original on this new acquisition.
