Anyone knows of the where about of this Belly Tanker who build it and the owner if it is still around. I notice he is running a VW engine with a supercharger on top. I would like to find out more about the build. Any leads is appreciated .

Progress as of today added the other Belly Tank half to fit all the new pieces been made so we have a good dimension and fit.

ha! theres something I never thought of! I raced VW powered midgets in the late 90's to the early 2000's. how hot is the motor?? I ran all autocraft stuff on mine.

This tanker will be registered for the street here in Arizona and it will have a1600 cc engine to start and later a 1776 CC with the 42 dcnf Webbers dual set up .

This past week I had cut a portion of the rear of a VW pan to see if I could use the main frame horn to install the transmission and the engine and to build my chassis around it as it will be a mid engine.The seat I will be using is all aluminum so i will have to modify it to fit in the tanker .

You are correct Rotowrench, I was stationed at Big Spring AFB Texas, later Webb AFB in the early 50s.It was one of the early Jet training bases with a bunch of T33s, 2 place F80s. I picked up a couple slightly damaged tanks from scrap heap but had to give them to a buddy since I couldn't figure a way to haul them to next assignment on my 1940 ford tu-door.

The pictured plane is a single place F-80. As I remember the T-33 ( Two placeTrainer ) had larger wing tanks..
