Default Mystery ‘37 85hp engine bolts…help

So as I’m organizing my parts and pieces for my 1-1/2 ton, I have these 2 bolts (actually 4 but I have mixed parts from 2 engines) that I can’t figure out where they go.

Any input is really appreciated. I don’t want to put something together and tear it apart again.

I’ve had the timing cover and pan off to replace the soft plugs in the pan rail. I suspect they go there somewhere?

Stepped shank bolts like that are special bolts for sure. I've seen similar bolts for hinge applications. Maybe a 37 Ford owner can nail them down for you. Most flathead V8 engines use same or similar bolts no matter the year and I certainly can't recall engine bolts like that.

I'm not even sure now that they're from the '37.

This project got stacked into a pile and moved to the side of my shop, I'm really frustrated trying to sort and identify things.

Gotta love helpful family.

Try putting a 35 peecup together, that never was together. My truck is assembled from parts gathered from all over the country, even a couple of parts from NZ.

No parts from the same vehicle except for maybe running boards.

They are definitely not from a flathead engine. They look similar to the bolts that allow the top to pivot on my ‘37 convertible sedan, but those had a slotted screw head not a hex. Therefore, you have a mystery bolt(s).

They look like 32 Roadster trunk lid hinge pivot bolts.

Agree. 5/16 pin + 3/8 thread + 1/2 hex head is most likely the trunk pivot bolt. 1928-32 5 Window and roadster.
