Any V12 guys?
Asking for a friend…..what is your spark plug recommendation for 1940 V12?? Or what you’ve found runs the best?? AND or is it better to have one slightly hotter than recommended???

In general for a flathead that that is not pushed very hard, one range hotter plugs may be a little less likely to foul, when puttering around town in traffic. I would not fret over the choice.

Re: Any V12 guys?
Not much help, but the Pierce-Arrow derived V12 in my '48 Seagrave fire engine took Champion H10's. They worked great in it. The only problem was that with dual ignition, it took 24 spark plugs. I ran every hardware and lawn and garden store within 20 miles out of plugs when I changed them.

Re: Any V12 guys?
Spark plugs can be a back and forth item. Different folks have different opinions about manufacturers. The V12 Lincoln engine can use the same plugs as the Ford L head V8. There are a lot of threads on here about spark plugs.
If it was made by Ford it is welcome in the barn. Ford made B model 4-cylinder engines, V8 60 engines, N model tractor 4-cylinder engines, 85 & 95 HP V8 engines, and 90-HP G series 6-cylinder engines even before WWII started. The Lincoln and Mercury cars are popular cars on here too. |

Re: Any V12 guys?
If the V12 does indeed take the same plug as its V8 brethren, the popular modern replacement for a Champion H10 is a the NGK B4L. Hotter version is the B6L.
