Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan
All my early Ford cars have wiring from Chris at Bauer. He will make it any way you want with cloth covered correct colored wire. I told him I was running a 59 series engine in my 32 5w, 6V using generator and v reg, wanted turn signals in the 2 bulb headlights, stock starter switch and headlight switch, 52 Pontiac taillights. Everything came quickly and fit perfect including the dome light wire to switch and on to the light.

39’ Deluxe. So new harness was all in , along with new headlight switch. Was working fine, not so much now. Pulled switch off bottom of Steer Box and found a 1/2 clip loose in there.
Does it go on Brass horn connector with the brass spring ? CBA7F2C2-4F7E-4FC0-9711-B48A4D775F8D.jpg |

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan
There should be a contact that rotates with the horn rod that is retained by the spring and clip. It can be a bit of a pain to assemble.

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan
Ok so the Contact that rotates on shaft has two blades to go into Headlight Switch. It’s stuck in Switch Housing. I did not want to pull too hard till you guys straightened me out. I will have to pull it out and attach to shaft with clip.
Guess I will also have to clock it properly so “ Deluxe “ is in proper position on steering wheel when Lights are in the “Off” position. |

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan
Hello. So all 39’ updates completed a few months ago. Multiple local trips to get the the Bugs out. New Brakes run in hard and all adjusted up for a good straight stop.
Then I occurred a traumatic fall. Taking me out of commission for past 6 weeks. Another 6-8 weeks to go. Positive note is I will have a full recovery. So getting back to 39’. Seat - raising 1” and moving back 3-4”. There is already a 4 short pieces of 1” sq stock under seat. Want to raise a little more and move back. Thinking of using 2) 1 1/4” x 1 1/4” sq stock full lenght on each side . What have you guys done to move seats ? Thanks, Stretch |

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan
To move seat forward or back the seat brackets have two holes to mount seat. By switching holes seat can have some additional adjustment. This I must do on my 39 as even with adjuster back seat is too close to steering wheel.

Yo, Stretch....When I first bought our very original, un-restored '37 coupe about 21 years ago, it felt like I was sitting down too low in the seat. Nothing wrong with springs. Just too low for my liking, and the window opening seemed too high to rest my left arm on comfortably. I used a 1/8"-wall, 1" X 2" piece of rectangular tubing running from left to right, placed on it's side beneath the REAR seat mounts. With the REAR raised 1", it feels like a brand-new seat, with my head now at a decent elevation in the cockpit. Coop . |
