Half the fun of Model A Meets is driving to the event! If proves to yourself that you've made your car truly roadworthy. The feeling of accomplishment is real. I always drive. This year, I'm about 75 miles from Morgantown, which is a mere hop skip and a jump. When the meet was in Dearborn, I drove, and put over 1,500 miles on the car over the week. Sure, there may be little repairs to be made along the way. I had to change a leaky water pump on the way home from Dearborn. But what's the worst that can happen? So you end up on a flatbed- that's what credit cards are for.

Touring with other club members is best, but I definately have struck out on my own too. With off-season maintenance of things needing attention, most things that pop up on a trip are minor in nature.

I really enjoy going on club trips. My trunk is from my (our) clothes, not tools and junk.

I plan on driving from the Finger Lakes region of NY with another club member. We are not having a road race to get to Morgantown. We plan on enjoying the drive. That said, my car runs great and I will have it out on two short tours with the club prior to the trip to Morgantown. If something happens on the way down...so be it. I figure I have a better chance of a successful run doing it with another club member. Newer Iron cars break down too. I am AAA ready!

I was thinking about driving, but my tires are pretty old. I have had new tires on order since the fall and they have not arrived, yet, so I will likely trailer.

My wife and I plan to drive from Roanoke, VA. Our schedule is still a bit up in the air. We may meet a club member and drive together.

Six of us plan to drive down on Sunday from the Newburgh, NY area. We'll probably take Route 94 south, a nice 2 lane Model A road. Should be a fun drive.
