It is starting to get warmer out, the Parades are starting soon, time to get the Model A out more, and finish up the remainder of the old $2.39 gas in the tank, and put in that new over $4 a gallon gas. Maybe by the summer end it will be over $6.

oh, come on guys... i just paid over €2,00 per litre, that would be €7,60/us gallon, or over $8,30/gallon. Maybe that's the good news for you today, it could be much worse... much, much worse...

And that was not the premium stuff, just the E5 with up to 5% ethanol. The cheaper stuff, up to 10% ethanol was sold out.

checked my home heating oil this morning and now going for 4.75 a gallon here in NJ

I filled up in august at 2.25

guess Ill be burning the lathe in the walls, come next fall............

Anyone ever see "angelas Ashes"? lol

Everyone always says "you get what you pay for" so I'm excited to see how this new gas is 2x as good as the "old" gas!! I'm expecting at least 80 or 90MPH out of the ol A as 45 was a nice comfortable cruising speed last summer.

I didn't see Anglela's Ashes,(I'm a reader,not too much of a watcher)but I read two of the books.Reading stories of growing up like that keeps me from whining too much now.

Ordinary 91 octane petrol is about $US6.80 per US gallon here now and going north. Fuel at give away prices has for years, encouraged the sale of monster gas guzzlers in the US while where fuel is more expensive, people drive smaller vehicles or none at all. Public transport becomes a more viable option and is made safe and reliable. One only has to look at a street scene from another country to know how expensive fuel is for the population.
All that said, at a time when electric and hybrid cars are becoming more common, I am hopeful that as the number of petrol burners decreases, so too will the price of fuel because there will be a smaller market for it yet the supply capacity for more is still there. It will probably turn out to be a pipe dream but.......

Here in the mountains of Central Commiefornia, we just posted $6.00 per gallon. Most likely we'll be at $7.00 before the end of the week.

Now I can understand how the rest of the world feels.

On my way down to buy some of that 'NEW' gas before it's all gone.

Skyrocketing fuel prices is probably the one thing that affects all people the most. Not only are you paying extra at the pump, but every business (like myself) has to raise their prices to compensate & since everything you have eventually had to be transported, replacing it will cost more. I have raised my per loaded mile rate for the 1st time in several years, however I am a man of my word & I refuse to ask my customers who have already locked spots on my schedule to pony up extra money after I quoted a price & they agreed to pay that price. Fortunately I have always done everything I can to run my business as efficiently as possible. I build my transport trucks for the best possible fuel mileage already, so I am insulated from all of this to a point. This is one time where being booked 4-8 weeks in advance all year round is a bit of a disadvantage. As much as I continue to love transporting for the guys in our hobby, at some point if it continues to go up, I will just stop taking more business & build a bunch more cars, until things are reset back to the sanity of a while back.

I remember back in the late 70s when there were shortages, and I cut the very long gasoline line, I was afraid people would kill me, until they noticed there was no one at the diesel pump, and that I was driving a diesel auto.

Hey Synchro- interesting comment on AACA by Trimacar- apparently even if we here in America switch to electric, worldwide, more and more people are buying cars for the first time, so by 2038, there will actually be far more cars on the worldwide roads and a much higher rate of fuel required.

so this whole "electirc thing" is just that, a thang..........

ps Keith, the books were great, but the movie was a bit of alright as well.

With all the rotten stuff going on in the world, it simply AMAZES me how many choose to gripe/complain about gas prices.
Funny I didn't see much ink about gas when it was under $2.00 a gallon.
The auto industry has convinced us we need huge "supertanker" vehicles. And we all fell for it.
My last patrol vehicle was a 4X4 TAHOE!!! What in the heck did I need something that big for one person driving all night long??? Damned if I know. It got about 14 MPG!

We have to have Gas, I think we could just curtail our use a little to lessen the sting.
Remember, the Russians created this mess.
