Moth balls all over inside. Make sure the antifreez is up to par. That's it. never had a problem, last year missed one of the cars with the moth balls and got mice. PS also put out lots of poison in the storage building.

I like to start them up and run them a while during the winter, weather permitting.

When you use the BLUE(marine grade) sta-bil also add some MMO & run it thru the system for a bit & won't hurt to put some in the oil. Sticky valves @ startup are a pain. Disconnect the battery after it is charged up & anti-freeze check.

Roll the windows up tighter than a drum. MICE!! If you got nice rims, take them off and put her on jackstands.

Me too. I also like to use dryer sheets instead of moth balls.

When I lived up north. I would use drier sheets, or moth balls. Roll up windows and use Stabil. I would start it up every few weeks and back out into driveway. After running for about 20-25 min. Back it goes for a few more weeks.

Irish Spring soap shavings are supposed to be a good mouse repellent, too, according to some boat owner friends (poor souls).

50/50 antifreez/coolant mix, lavender mothballs, stabil in gas, cleaned spark plugs, fresh engine oil, battery fully charged, properly inflated tires, cardboard under vehicle. I do not start my 6 cyl during the winter anymore. I used to years ago and I had problems with the front valves sticking in the spring start-up. I attributed the sticking valves from rust that occurred from running the engine, then shutting it off without the front of the engine getting hot enough so moisture would form creating the rust. Since not running my engine in the winter, I have not had sticking valves for many years.

Roll up all the windows so the racoons cain't get in. I learned that a few yr's ago. Forgot to roll the right window, a coon got in tore the rooled and pleated leatherret all up, seats door plannles, everything except the head linner. Then had a litter of little ones on the floor behind the seat. Cost me 500 bucks to get the inside done again. Walt

When I lived up north (Long Island, NY) I drove my Flatheads year round, just tried not to take them out after a snow fall so the salt would not get on the undercarriage.

They don't use salt up here, it won't work at cold temps, and the severe cold would be really hard on the old drivelines. So I put her away about a month ago and won't be able to go back out till April. But it gives me something to do for the winter.
