Default Reproduction F1 Steering Wheels

I have a 1949 F1 and am considering a new steerng wheel, available for example, from Macs. I'm wondering what the quality of this item is like - anyone tried one?

I've seen the ones that Dennis Carpenter offers (they could be the same as Macs) and they look real nice. However, I have not bought or installed one. I restored the original steering wheel on our '51 F-1.

I would think you'd be able to find one and either restore it yourself or find someone to do it for about the price of a new one. That wheel was used on a lot of commerical vehicles and shouldn't be hard to find at all.

I'm currently restoring a '48 F4 and a friend of mine has a '50 F1 and we have both purchased the reproduction stearing wheels. I think they look great. The feel is very nice and the quality is great. I'd have no qualms in recommending one.

49r: we both bought the steering wheels at a swap meet in Moultrie, GA at different times from different booth venders, but I believe the manufacturer was the same. I believe it was Dennis Carpenter.
