Ford-O-Matic... Would it fit?
Hey gang! Just getting curious about this... Would a Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission, fit into a 1949 Inline 6 cyl flathead? Im not planning on doing it, but my curiosity struck again!

Don't know about the '49 six cylinder, but the '49 and '50 V8 crankshaft did not have the large recess in the drive end that is needed to accept the Fordomatic torque converter hub. ..B.

curiosity is cool. I have a ford-o-matic and wonder if the parasitic horsepower loss would be less with a manual.
