Re: Blew The Rear End In My '40 coupe
I have a Columbia in it that I really like so I'm pretty much committed to a stocker.
Thanks guys for all the replies. I'll let you know what happens. Bob |

Re: Blew The Rear End In My '40 coupe
I just met up with Pete Rose from Langley, B.C.
He gave me two sets of gears and other rear parts. Two boxes of parts. He even drove over half way to my place to deliver them. About 150 miles round trip. What a guy! I tried to slip him a couple greenbacks for gas but he wouldn't take them. Also Gary Wiles offered me a gear set that turned out the PO let get a little rusty. We still have to meet for lunch, though. Old car guys are great! (especially Fordbarners). Also, it turns out a neighbor (Bill Maxwell) had a '39 complete rear end sitting in a shed. He gave it to me, too! Now I have to go work on my car. Thanks Fordbarners! |

Well Bob, it sounds like you have everything necessary to fix your wounded rear end. I'd like to know if you still have that "Alaska" 170? DD

Re: Blew The Rear End In My '40 coupe
Yup, now I have to get my hands dirty.
My son has the 170 now. It's in Concord, Ca. He's been riding in it since he was a kid and flew it some after he got his license. He's 52 now. She was in 25 episodes of Northern Exposure. Good old bird. Wife and I flew it to Alaska 4 times. |
