35 pickup rear window question
Installing new headliner from Car Touche in my pickup. Never had one prior too. Centered Over the rear window (see picture) is a 3/8" hole cutout in the metal rib with adjacent screw holes ? on either side. behind this hole next to the back of the cab is a small tab that would prevent anything from hitting the cab.
Can anyone tell me what the hole & tab are for ?. Looks like I'm only going to get one shot at getting the headliner in right. Apologize for the poor quality of the picture

Re: 35 pickup rear window question
That arrangement of holes is for the accessory rear sliding widow locking/operating mechanism to attach. Don Rogers here on the barn can probably send you a photo of the knob that operates it, and in fact the whole mechanism. Jerry Grayson and I sent him all our stuff on the pickup several years ago. I don't know what he has done with it since.

I have a sliding back window in my '39 pickup. It is a great addition to help keep the cab cool!!

Re: 35 pickup rear window question
Talk...The kit Landis was selling did not come with the glass, it came with a "blueprint" for having the glass cut. The kit came with the double channel, the knob that was used to lock the window, the glass pattern, and the molding that went around the rear window. Without the glass, the kit did not weigh much.

Re: 35 pickup rear window question
Talkwrench, Here's a mid 1935 drawing of the pickup sliding back window glass. It's a little hard to read, but it might help.
