Bumper replacement
Does anyone know the dimensions of a 1948-50 F1&2 front bumper? I'm trying to find out if they're even close to the dimensions of the 3 ton truck version.

Re: Bumper replacement
F-1 thru F-3 are the same bumper.F-4 thru F-6 is taller profile bumper, but looks the same. 48-50 is the smooth style, the 51-52 was a ribbed bumper. All years can be interchanged, but not correct if you're doing a proper restoration.

Re: Bumper replacement
Thanks guys, my truck is actually a Mercury M155 (3 ton) and I'm just not sure what the equivalent is in the F series Ford trucks. I have a ford manual that put it in the F-5 division, but wanted to see If the F-1&2 bumper would look OK once installed on it for show, not needing rugged protection.

Re: Bumper replacement
Did You ever get a chance to measure that F1 bumper you have in your garage?
I did find out that the F5 bumper is a taller profile than the F1, but I would like to find out by how much. Thanks, Mercury Guy |
