Default Quail cap

Hi guys, from what I've read this is a repro right?

Mine was a repro. I bought it from Bratton's. I have gone to a temp gauge hooked up to the water outlet vs the quail . Easier to really see what is going on temperature wise.

I'm not sure I have ever seen a real quail radiator cap.

Its a reproduction. The original accessory quail caps were not thermo quails and didn't have the thermometer.The Vintique repro quails are bad about ruining the radiator neck, I've messed up two radiator necks over the years by using them. I use the repro Rexaco temperature gauge with the sending unit connected to a metal pipe in the upper hose. I didn't want to run the risk of breaking an expensive upper water outlet with the threaded hole for the sending unit.
