Question Missing Water Drain Petcock

Have any of you ever seen a water return pipe without a petcock? Draining the radiator could be messy.

I've seen plugs in place of petcock.

When I was a kid I would take the petcock off cars in the junk yards. I have a nice collection.

Yes, my recent purchase of a 31 coupe had a line with no petcock in it. I've since replaced it.

It probably has no petcock because somebody cut a piece out of an old exhaust pipe and put it in.I saw a lot of that on old cordwood saws powered by the A.They just looked at old tailpipes in the junkyards and when you saw a piece with a close bend they would hacksaw out a chunk.
