F1 Positive Battery Cable Ground Location
I hate to show my ignorance, but on the F1 what was the original factory location to secure the braided ground strap from the battery? I can not find any accurate information in the service manual. It appears every photograph either cuts off the braided strap from the view or every installation is different. Some posts say on the heads. Some say on the coil bracket. Some say on a starter bolt and then add a grounding strap from the engine to the firewall. I'm searching for the original factory solution and then will also ask if there is a better location to aid in the starting process.
Thanks for your help. |

Re: F1 Positive Battery Cable Ground Location
This Dearborn-level truck in the local EFV8 Club has what I believe to be the factory correct attachment. It makes no sense, the ground strap should go to the engine (like on the bellhousing) with a smaller strap to the body and frame. But I've heard many confirming stories that this was original.
