Default Rearend Ratio Check

This may be a dumb question, but what is the easiest way to check the rearend ratio with an enclosed driveline? On an open driveline you turn the rear wheel 1 revolution and count the number of driveshaft revolutions.

What I do is make a mark on crankshaft pulley, put trans in 3rd, start with tire valve stem up(front works), move car till valve stem is in same place, count crankshaft turns---4 full turns + a little=4:11 ----3-1/2 = 3:54 3-3/4 = 3:78
its easier with plugs out, but usually I am too lay to do that, I just grab the tire and bounce the driveline slop against compression
