Default Late 1931 indented firewall gas valve

Looking for advice on my gas valve which has a slight leak when off. Brattons sells a replacement valve. They also sell a gas line which has a valve in the line, They have a fuel valve Stem which fits an original but how to tell an original from a repro. elp

John, I am in the same leaky boat.

There is a rebuild kit available which uses a graphite packing ring and some lube. However, it only works with an original, late '31 valve. I will be checking mine tonight and then I will either buy the kit or a new valve or an inline valve (to save $. Replacement valves are $36).

Hi John, I also had the same issue with the firewall gas shutoff. Would leak nanno amounts, however those little amounts were enough to keep the bottom of the new zenith with one little drip but would not fall to the floor. Ive since installed the new inline shutoff from Brattons and has fixed the issue for 5 years now. Try the new inline by itself for for an hour or so to see if it stops completely.
happy motoring dutie

ditto Mike's set up with the compression fittings /ball valve. inexpensive and easy fix.
