Default rear spring issue

Got my rear spring apart and started cleaning up the leafs. The ends of the first spring with the eyelets are gouged pretty bad from rubbing and I found this at the top near the bolt hole. Is this fatigue? Should I scrap it and order a new one?

It doesn't look like fatigue, but corrosion. If the eye ends are gouged, I would look at buying a new leaf. I had some main leafs made up by my local spring works, as most of the ones I had were either worn around the eyes, or saggy from a long life of use.

Here is a search I did that also has some good info shared. I was looking for the post where someone mentioned grinding and then buffing the ends of each spring where it rubs the one below it to get rid of the galling and score marks that happen when they become dry and rusty. Using a dry film lube or Teflon also helps the ride quality. I hope this helps.
