Re: Orange County Model A Pancake Breakfast
Crazydaddyo;
Richard (club pres.) who you met when we saw you at the burger place is on the road to his grandsons graduation from basic at Lackland. I haven't heard from him yet tonight, I will relay the question and get a current update. Dan you can call Mark Schwing at 714-970-1676 he is a driving force and I believe has met with the powers that be at City Hall. I believe Richard told me they are giving the event gas! I moved away in 79 and now the whole place is going to hxll. For the Barner who asked about arriving at 10:15,they keep serving to around 11:00 or so, they have always had food, but the cars have thinned out. Steve

Re: Orange County Model A Pancake Breakfast
I'll be there when they add a swap meet to it.

Re: Orange County Model A Pancake Breakfast
swap meet, in orange ? i think the city has enjoyed this long enough and they may want to hang it up , come on none of us are actually going to park in town and so money spent , ha . we get out five dollar breakfast and throw our green backs at the raffle .
what is it, ten reserved tables for $500 it's cleanest event in orange . get there before the haze burns out your eyeballs . |

Re: Orange County Model A Pancake Breakfast
I belong to the OC Model A Club, and we had our monthly breakfast this morning. Richard was there, along with several other members and I asked about the future of using Hart Park. I was told that it is uncertain....the city will not commit to anything other than year to year. But I was also told that we are getting the clear message that the city is for some reason not real fond of the event. Not sure why, as they get paid for us to use it, and we leave the place cleaner than we found it.
So the answer is we don't really know, but by appearances our stay may be limited. I am sure they are contemplating options as to where to move if and when that happens. In the meantime, come down...the weather forecast for this Sunday is clearing...no rain! |

Maybe the event could be moved to Oak Canyon Ranch next to Irvine lake. It is a nice place with plenty of space. I live in the city of orange and I'd like to know who is opposed to it so that I can vote them out of office. I don't see their logic on this. . |

Re: Orange County Model A Pancake Breakfast
I don't think the City of Orange appreciates what we bring to the city but they are only doing what cities do best, making things a little tougher for us each year.
We follow the rules each year and I see no problem with planning a 51st annual pancake breakfast next year. I think the rumor of no more pancake breakfasts which pops up each year is from us workers that are exhausted when it's over. A week or two later we look at the pictures, discuss how it went and start planning for next year. Pray for sunshine and a dry creeek bed which happens to be our parking lot. Arrive hungry. Expect to have fun. Don't forget your raffle money. Happy winners are going to be toting home those fantastic prizes. It might be you. Richard Anaheim CA |

Re: Orange County Model A Pancake Breakfast
Looks like I just might make it. I was suppose to work but now we are not shooting on sunday. I am planning on taking surface streets this time. According to map quest 2 hours and about 55 miles one-way . I want to be greedy and win the brake drums , Mitchell overdrive , 19 inch tires and what ever else I may want or need LOL
