Default Oh I really need some help on this!

Ok I have oil getting in my radiator fluid. When I check the oil it's like there is nothing in the oil so I have to put more in. Would this be the head gasket. I am hoping it is. I just bought a new head and gasket to hopefully fix this.

Sounds a little odd but a compression test will tell.

A little oil in coolant can look like a lot. Not knowing what you are seeing, I have to ask if it is a lite or heavy looking amount also? You're also considering you have a head gasket problem, I agree before you go to all the trouble of cracking open the head, try the compression check. See if something looks wonky. Since you are not seeing water in the oil, I'd go for the easy stuff first and flush out the cooling system if it is a really small shin of oil to make sure you didn't contaminate the coolant by accident sometime. And also check compression. Then watch if it comes back then report back because we all want to know what you found. Good luck.

You can also do the "sniff test" with a block tester, to test for combustion gasses in the cooling system. They can only get there from a bad head gasket, cracked block or cracked head. Test kit available at NAPA. Easy to do, very conclusive (blue fluid turns yellow, or something like that, it's been a while since I did one).

Are you saying that there is no oil on the dip stick when you check? this is a serious problem. Please clarify your post. A small sheen in the radiator could be no big deal, but loss of lots of oil is a big deal.

Obviously with no oil on the stick, you won't start it! Wayne

I have flush the radiator fluid 2 twice and every time oil gets back in there. My friend even confirms its oil as well. Plus I get a yellow hard foam on the radiator cap and inside the radiator. And twice the oil has disappeared. Now the car did sit for a long time before I got it and really started driving it again. I already bought a new head and headgasket and all new gasket for it from Berts.

Could it be lube from the waterpump?

Your engine oil will look a little lower on the dipstick after engine run. Let it sit for a half hour and recheck it.

I had what I thought was oil in my radiator , it turned out to be grease from the water pump. I thought it was odd, it turned out I had greased the water pump the day before.

Yep it's grease from the water pump. Just remember I did recently grease it whew. Now how is that doing that, do I have a bad water pump then? Regardless still swapping head and gasket because, I want high compression head anyways.

Usually that is due to overgreasing. It doesn't take much, just a regular schedule.

That is what I thinking of when I said it sounded a little odd. "When I check the oil it's like there is nothing in the oil so I have to put more in."

Less then one stroke is all that is needed for the water pump. Some just remove the the grease fittings and press a little in my hand.
