Looking for a Belt
Need some help on finding the correct generator belt on a 42 flattie. 5/8 wide apprroximately 37-1/2 long strapped. Any one have a cross reference number? Looking for a spare belt and there is no number on mine. Thanks

Re: Looking for a Belt
From VanPelts > " Had the two fan belt system (beginning with 1942 models) to drive the accessories. One belt operated the water pumps and generator. The other belt operated the cooling fan assembly."
Does your car have this? - two belts?

Re: Looking for a Belt
There is a giant hardware store in Ephrata, Pa named Zimmerman's. The store
looks to be 4 or 5 acres in size. Inside hanging from the roof trusses is about 25 rows of V belts. The "B" belt is about the right pitch for the wide belt Ford pullies. They have a web site and the belt lengths are listed. G.M. I just monovered around Zimmrman's web site. It's a little difficult but you can get to power transmission belts. If I recall I used a Carlisle Super ll V belt. It was a 21/32 wide belt and if I recall about 42"s long. you can order them by phone or online. I think they have a formula by measuring pulley diameters and distance between pullies to determine length. G.M.
