Default Dab Nab It All Anyway. Screw Vibrated Out

The starboard focus adjusting screw that holds pressure against the spring and headlamp bulb holder socket has disappeared. Imagine that.

Who would have 'thunk it'? Well it's off to the Ace is the Place for a fastener. And then over to the first level, dark and enclosed parking garage in town for a aiming secession.

I wonder what thread size the missing screw is? Same as the other side I'm sure. But I don't want to loose that adjust either.

Well the 'A' roadster did vibrate down the back roads of Door County for 94 miles last weekend. This thing must be part Harley Davidson!

Skip,

I think it's either #10 or #12 fine-thread.

10-32 fits the sockets I'm re-wiring.

Thank you Gentlemen. I have not opened up the headlite bucket yet, do to an extensive 'Honey~Do' list. I'm hoping that the screw just backed off on it's own accord and has not stripped out, then skipped out.

I do know that the inside the the buckets/reflector is in excellent shape. No rust, pits, or funky wiring. It's a mystery so far.

I was wondering how long this 10-32 x ? long is. What is a good '?' length. I can always buy a few differing lengths and then adjust the length.

Thanks again. skip.

Off-hand, I'd say 1.5" ... the ones that were supplied with the repro lights on my '28 were too long: long enough to ground-out the socket terminals about the time I'd get the bulb focused... wound-up grinding nearly 1/2" off them.
