Default Re: Distributor Cam

I have the 'B' dist cam.
The highs and lows are almost not distinguishable.
What I did after reading Marco's dissertation on timing was to paint the cam with a Pentel black magic marker.

Then run the car for about two minutes. Remove the cam and look~see the cam while holding it in my hand. It will show exactly where the point block rubs on the cam and that helps to determine visually if the cam is good and symmetrical. Also highlights surface roughness on the cam's surface.

As always the point gap is set before timing is attempted.
