what maniflod gasket is better

Need to purchase a manifold gasket and see a couple different choices. What is prefered, the copper with asbestos or metal with asbestos. Also is the one piece better than 2 piece. I know everyone has there own chioce what works for them. Just was wondering if one is better sealing than the other.Thanks

copper with asbestos . I use 2 pieces .works for me

I use the late 31 copper clad gaskets. The 31 gaskets are wider and give a better chance of a good seal, even if the manifold has a SLIGHT sag. Look at the pictures of the gaskets in the new Brattons catalog and you can see what I am talking about. Look at the picture on page 60 left upper page and compare to the picture on page 59 right hand bottom of page, of the January 29 until May 31 gaskets.

I also used the late 31 copper gasket when I did mine, which is a late 31.

One piece copper. So I'm told. Just snug up the fasteners, 'no need to squeeze the water out of the thing'.
