Thanks Skip, But how do you tell a Town Sedan from a deluxe fordor or a plain fordor. Mine has Cowl lights, Three windows, and an oval interior light. I ain't sure of nuthin', but I think it's a Town Sedan.

The deluxe would have a fold down rear center section and in 29 cowl band a cowl lights. As far as which style being more desirable, depends on which one you have, can get or like. The only problem I see with the body number chart is; for Briggs and Murray bodies they list the Ford number, which is not the same as, at for least the Briggs body number, that is on the body plate (29, not sure about 30-31).

jaguar6165 asks..."which body is rarer or more desirable?" "Briggs or the Murray"
I'd have to say Murray if I had unlimited funds...HA!!

But #1 I'd pick a Town Car like these pictured below.

And than #2 this 1931 Slant Window Town Sedan by Murray.

In Peter Winnewisser's fine book "The Legendary Model A Ford" "The ultimate History Of One Of America's Great Automobiles" Mr. Winnewisser states that the Ford Model 'A' has over 19,000 changes to itself in the total production run....that is pretty amazing me thinks! How do 'they' ever cover that in the judging standards?

With all the great people that have researched to a gnats ass when and how a certian part was made and where, I often wished someone could come up with a posting of the different body styles and what they included that distinguish them from deluxe, regular, and in case of the Fordor, Town Sedan.
