Default Wiper Mounting Hole Sizes

Hello - So I've come across this Marco Diagram, which is clearly helpful but I'm also looking for what size drill bits to use to mount a vacuum wiper? My PU windshield frame has no holes at all and I'm getting ready to tackle installing a vacuum wiper system this winter.

Referencing the diagram, 1-1930 Frame with Vacuum Wiper, the hole's A,D, and F are what drill sizes?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Vaughn

Since you don't have a wiper already, save yourself the trouble of installation and aggravation when it doesn't perform as well as you want. Rain-X is your friend.

A tracing, or rubbing, might help to more accurately layout the holes. Contact me if you would like that and I would send that to you.

Watch for a how I would do it YouTube when I get back home. Orcutt all ford swap and meet is Saturday.
With a new windshield frame you only get one shot, if I bought a new aftermarket bare frame I would not want to dick around, and mess it up.

You know that the windshield unit slides out, with the assist of a helper, right?

I agree - I'm a big fan of rain-x. Works great.

At this point, I really just want to put the period correct system on my PU. It doesn't look right to me with no system mounted to it at all.

Thanks - Vaughn

No Sir - I'm not tracking that. But good advice - I'll look up how to remove it.

Noted – you are correct, my caliper tool didn’t cost me that much and works very well. However, before you pop off with some erroneous input, maybe you should re-read threads before submitting input or advice. As stated, I have no wiper system and am gathering info to install a system. So a caliper tool is useless in my situation at the moment. Maybe I’m just misinterpreting your comment and blowing it out of proportion, but in my opinion, your comment came off as disrespectful. You sure could’ve worded it a lot differently.

“If you have a Caliper Tool, you could maybe use that to measure diameters to get the drill bit sizes.”

I have been on this site less than a week. Read different threads. I love knowledge and I love to learn new things. I even posted a small introduction about myself and my Model A and received a lot of real nice comments and to “ask questions – plenty of knowledge here.”

And really, I don’t need to explain anything to you. You don’t know me, I don’t know you. But I will tell you a little something about me. I spent over 20 years in the Army serving this great Nation. I’ve met and dealt with all walks of life. I’ve been to good places, and been to some bad places. So I have thick skin – I can even take constructive criticism. But its comments like yours and its people like you that keep the newer generation and people new to the Model A Family from wanting to ask questions or be a part of these forums.

So I will thank you for your small piece of advice and leave you with some as well: Keep your snide comments to yourself. No one wants to hear them.

No response is necessary from you. I will not respond to it. And if I get banished from this site for my response, so be it.

I just put up a YouTube video on locating the vacuum wiper on a windshield frame,or a replacement hinge piece.
