Default 46 Ford inside door opener spring

On the shaft where the door handle attaches IN the car, there is a hair pin type spring at the base of it. This is on the mechanism behind the door panel. Mine has snapped or broke. Can I just buy this spring somewhere or do I need to find entire assembly. Im sure all models have same spring even if door opener mechs may vary abit in style. Thanks!

Not quite sure of what spring you are looking for, can you post a picture?

That spring should be available from your favorite V-8 vendor. It can be a little tricky to change.

Take photos "before" you start taking latch apart.
