The best value for the average restorer is to pay someone to make up a full set of drums and backing plates. You get all new quality parts that are fit together so they are centered and the shoes will match the drums. You just have to bolt the parts together and adjust properly.

These shops that perform the service have the tooling set up for repeatable matched systems to give you best brake performance. Keep in mind the brakes do stop you very good when done right.

My car came to me without emergency/ park brake components. I sent all my rear brake components to Randy Gross and he sent back complete assemblies ready to mount. Great service and communication. Good to know that my rear brakes are now complete and very functional.
